How to Go Live and Hand Back to AutoDJ in AzuraCast
AzuraCast · Self-help guide
Going live in AzuraCast is straightforward once your encoder is set up. The main goal is to take over from AutoDJ cleanly, present your show, then disconnect in a way that allows automation to resume. Log in at https://stream.onlineaudience.co.uk before your show so you can check the station status.
Step-by-step guide
- Prepare your microphone, playlist, mixer or playout software before connecting.
- Open your encoder and select the saved AzuraCast server profile.
- Start your local audio source and watch the level meters. Aim for a strong signal without hitting red.
- Click Connect or Start Streaming in your encoder.
- Watch the AzuraCast dashboard to confirm the station has detected the live DJ connection.
- Listen through a separate browser, phone or device to confirm the public stream sounds correct.
- When the show ends, stop talking, allow your final track or outro to finish, then disconnect the encoder.
- Check that AutoDJ resumes and music continues playing.
A smooth handover sounds professional to listeners. Avoid repeatedly connecting and disconnecting during a live programme, because it can interrupt playback. If you are handing over to another DJ, agree a clear changeover time in advance. After disconnecting, stay on the dashboard for a minute to confirm automated programming has returned.
