How to Schedule Playlists for Shows, Days and Time Slots

SonicPanel · Self-help guide

Playlist scheduling helps your station sound planned instead of random. You can use schedules for breakfast music, overnight output, specialist shows, weekend programming, advert blocks or temporary event playlists. The key is to prepare the playlist first, then schedule it carefully.

Step-by-step guide

  1. Log in to Sonic Panel: https://sonic.onlineaudience.co.uk/cp/log.php.
  2. Create or review the playlist you want to schedule and make sure it contains the correct tracks.
  3. Open the scheduling or playlist interval area in your Sonic Panel menu.
  4. Select the playlist, then choose the day, start time and end time or duration.
  5. Check the timezone shown in the panel before saving.
  6. Save the schedule and confirm it appears in the schedule list.
  7. Monitor the first scheduled change to confirm it starts at the expected time.

For professional results, do not schedule an empty playlist and do not rely on memory when setting show times. Use clear playlist names such as Monday Breakfast, Friday Dance Show or Overnight Rotation. If your station uses live presenters, avoid scheduling an AutoDJ playlist over the top of a live show unless that is intentional. If Sonic Panel offers AutoDJ interruption settings, review them before using strict schedules, because they can affect whether the current track finishes first or fades out for the next scheduled item.
