How to Improve Mobile Stream Reliability for Listeners
Mobile Radio Apps · Self-help guide
Mobile listeners often use mixed network conditions, so stream reliability is important. Use a stable public stream URL and avoid changing mount points unless needed. Choose a bitrate that balances quality and reliability; very high bitrates can use more mobile data and may buffer for listeners with weaker connections. Keep AutoDJ active when no live DJ is connected, so the stream does not fall silent. If you schedule maintenance, let listeners know in advance. Avoid restarting the stream during peak listening times unless there is an urgent issue. Test your app on Wi-Fi and mobile data after making streaming changes. If listeners report buffering, ask for their device type, network type, location, and the time the issue happened.
