How to Schedule DJ Broadcast Slots in AzuraCast

AzuraCast · Self-help guide

DJ scheduling helps protect your station from accidental interruptions. Without schedule rules, a presenter may connect at the wrong time and take over the stream while another show is live. AzuraCast allows station managers to create allowed broadcast slots for individual streamer accounts. Log in at https://stream.onlineaudience.co.uk and select the correct station before editing schedules.

Step-by-step guide

  1. Open Streamers/DJs from the left sidebar.
  2. Find the presenter account you want to manage and click edit.
  3. Scroll to the scheduling section for that streamer.
  4. Add a new schedule slot.
  5. Select the allowed days of the week.
  6. Enter the start and end time for the show.
  7. Save the changes and repeat the process for any additional weekly slots.

Use the station timezone consistently when entering times. If your station promotes shows in UK time, make sure the schedule matches that. For example, a Friday night show could be set from 21:00 to 23:00 every Friday. Outside the allowed window, AzuraCast can reject the DJ connection so the presenter does not accidentally interrupt another programme. This is especially useful for community stations, guest shows and volunteer presenters. Keep a written running order outside the platform as well, so the website schedule, presenter timetable and AzuraCast permissions all match.
