How to Verify a Domain for a Third-Party Service

Domains & DNS · Self-help guide

Many third-party services ask you to verify domain ownership using a DNS record. Common examples include email platforms, analytics tools, app services, and website builders. The provider will usually give you a TXT or CNAME record. Log in to your DNS provider and open the DNS zone for the domain. Create the record exactly as supplied, including the host/name and value. Do not add http:// or extra spaces unless the provider specifically includes them. Save the record and wait for propagation. Return to the third-party service and click verify. If verification fails, check whether the record was added to the correct DNS provider, especially if your domain uses custom nameservers.
