How to Start and Stop Your Sonic Panel Radio Stream Safely

SonicPanel · Self-help guide

Starting and stopping your radio stream should be done carefully because it affects real listeners. In Sonic Panel, the stream service and AutoDJ may appear as separate controls. Understanding the difference helps you fix issues without taking the whole station offline unnecessarily.

Step-by-step guide

  1. Log in to Sonic Panel at https://sonic.onlineaudience.co.uk/cp/log.php.
  2. Check the main dashboard and confirm whether the radio service is online or offline.
  3. If the radio service is offline, use the start option to bring the stream online.
  4. If the radio is online but silent, check AutoDJ before restarting the whole stream.
  5. If you need to apply playlist changes, restart AutoDJ first rather than stopping the full radio service.
  6. Only stop the main stream when you are intentionally taking the station offline for maintenance or troubleshooting.

Before stopping anything, consider whether a live presenter is currently connected. Stopping the main stream will disconnect listeners and may interrupt the presenter. If you are making routine content changes, wait for a quiet period and test afterwards. A good professional habit is to keep a backup AutoDJ playlist ready, so if a presenter disconnects or a schedule fails, you can quickly return audio to the stream. After any start, stop or restart action, always open the public player and confirm the station is actually playing.
