How to Broadcast Live as a DJ or Presenter
SonicPanel · Self-help guide
Broadcasting live allows a presenter to take over the station from AutoDJ using broadcast software. Common software includes desktop encoders and radio automation tools. Your exact settings depend on the account, so always copy the details shown in Sonic Panel rather than guessing them.
Step-by-step guide
- Log in to Sonic Panel here: https://sonic.onlineaudience.co.uk/cp/log.php.
- Open the live broadcasting, encoder or DJ connection information area.
- Copy the server address, port, username, password and mount point if one is supplied.
- Open your broadcasting software and enter the connection details exactly as shown.
- Set your audio format and bitrate to match the stream package or instructions provided.
- Start AutoDJ if your setup requires AutoDJ to be online before live DJ connections are accepted.
- Connect from your software, then listen from a separate browser or phone to confirm you are live.
Before every live show, test your microphone level, music level and internet connection. Do not wait until the show start time to find out your password is wrong or your encoder is muted. When the show ends, disconnect cleanly from your software so AutoDJ can return to normal output. If AutoDJ does not return, log in to the panel and restart AutoDJ. For security, presenters should use their own DJ account rather than the station owner login.
