Changing the WordPress login URL can reduce automated login attempts against /wp-admin or /wp-login.php. The safest method for most users is to use a trusted security plugin that supports login URL changes. Before changing it, take a backup and make sure you have hosting control panel access in case you need to disable the plugin. Install the security plugin, find the login URL setting, and choose a memorable custom path that is not easy to guess. Save it and write the new login URL somewhere secure.
